Don’t you just love getting a handwritten note? We definitely do, and we don’t want to see handwriting become a thing of the past! We have teamed with some really great organizations like the Campaign for Cursive and WIMA (Writing Instrument Manufacturing Association) to support this great initiative to keep handwriting in our education system! We support handwriting in schools and we provide quality writing instruments and journals because to us–the pen will always be mightier than the sword!
Here are just some of the MANY facts and benefits about handwriting:
- Cursive improves Dexterity, Fine Motor Skills, Visual Perception
- Handwriting was taught in schools in the early mid 20th Century
- Cursive handwriting is becoming a thing of the past as tweets and texts are taking over
- Learning cursive engages the brain, improves fine motor dexterity and gives children a better idea of how words work in combination
